4 Foundation piles. At the beginning, the 4 Aces are placed face up into the foundations.
Tableau piles
8 Tableau piles with 6 face-up cards each.
Reserve piles
2 Reserve piles, initially empty.

Foundations
- Build up in suit from Ace to King.
- Cards are moved individually.
Tableau piles
- Build down in suit.
- The top card of each pile can be played onto another pile, onto the foundations or onto the reserves.
- Sequences of cards (built down in suit) may be moved as a unit from one pile to another or onto the descending reserve.
- Empty piles can be filled with any exposed card or with a sequence of cards (built down in suit).
Reserve piles
- Build the first reserve (descending reserve) down regardless of suit. Build the second reserve (ascending reserve) up regardless of suit.
- The top card can be played onto the tableau piles, onto the foundations or onto another reserve.
- Sequences of cards (built down in suit) may be moved as a unit from the descending reserve to a tableau pile.
- Empty reserve piles can be filled with any exposed card from another reserve pile or from the tableau piles. The first reserve (descending reserve) can also be filled with a sequence of cards (built down in suit) from the tableau piles.
