12 Tableau piles. The first 4 piles contain 5 face-up cards each and the remaining 8 piles contain 4 face-up cards each.

Waste pile

1 Waste pile, initially empty.

Tableau piles

• Match exposed cards that add up to 14 to move them to the waste pile.
• The value of the King is 13, that of the Queen is 12, that of the Jack is 11, and that of the other cards is their respective numbers (the value of the Ace is 1).
• The matches that can be made are: King + Ace, Queen + 2, Jack + 3, 10 + 4, 9 + 5, 8 + 6 and 7 + 7.
• Building within the tableau piles is not allowed.
• Empty piles cannot be filled with any card.

Waste pile

• When matching 2 cards that add up to 14, they will automatically be moved to the waste pile.
