4 Foundation piles. The first foundation contains an Ace, the second contains a Two, the third contains a Three and the fourth contains a Four.

4 Tableau piles, initially empty.
Stock pile
1 Stock pile with the remaining cards face up.

Foundations
- Build up regardless of suit from the base card to King as follows. The first foundation builds up by ones (A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K), the second builds up by twos (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, Q, A, 3, 5, 7, 9, J, K), the third builds up by threes (3, 6, 9, Q, 2, 5, 8, J, A, 4, 7, 10, K) and the fourth builds up by fours (4, 8, Q, 3, 7, J, 2, 6, 10, A, 5, 9, K).
- Cards are moved individually.
- Cards cannot be moved from the foundations.
Tableau piles
- Build with cards from the stock pile, regardless of rank or suit.
- The top card of each pile can be played onto the foundations.
- Moving cards from one pile to another is not allowed.
Stock pile
- The top card can be played onto the tableau piles or onto the foundations.
