Card types
- Weapons (Diamonds): Their value equals their rank. Weapons are binding: when taken, they must replace the current weapon.
- Monsters (Clubs and Spades): Their value equals their rank (number cards = face value, Jack = 11, Queen = 12, King = 13, Ace = 14).
- Health Potions (Hearts): Restore health equal to their value, but your health can never exceed 20.
The Room (4 Piles)
- When 4 cards are dealt forming a Room, there are 2 options: avoid the Room or resolve it.
- If you avoid the room: All 4 cards will be moved to the bottom of the Dungeon (stock pile) and 4 new cards will be dealt to form a new Room. You cannot avoid 2 Rooms in a row.
- If you choose to resolve it: You must play 3 of the 4 cards in the Room, one at a time.
- When only one card remains in the Room, 3 new cards will be dealt from the Dungeon (stock pile) to form a new Room.
(Weapons – Diamonds)
- If you select a weapon, it is equipped immediately and the previous weapon will be discarded to the waste pile.
(Monsters – Clubs and Spades)
- If you select a Monster, you can fight it barehanded or using your equipped weapon (if allowed).
- Barehanded combat: Drag the Monster to the Waste Pile. Your health is reduced by the monster’s full value.
- Weapon combat: Drag the Monster to the Weapon combat zone, only if its value is less than or equal to the last monster defeated with it. Your health is reduced by the monster’s value minus the value of the equipped weapon.
(Health Potions – Hearts)
- If you select a Health Potion, your health increases by the value of the potion, up to a maximum of 20.
- Only one potion can be used per turn; additional potions taken in the same turn are discarded to the waste pile with no effect.
The Dungeon (Stock pile)
- Tap the stock pile to avoid the Room. The 4 Room cards are moved to the bottom of the Dungeon (stock pile) and 4 new cards are dealt from the top.
- You cannot avoid 2 Rooms in a row.
The Weapon slot
- Holds your currently equipped weapon (only one at a time).
- When a new weapon is taken, it must be equipped immediately. The previous weapon and any monsters you fought are discarded to the waste pile.
The Weapon combat zone
- When fighting with a weapon, monsters are placed stacked in this zone.
- The weapon can only be used if the monster’s value is less than or equal to the last monster defeated with that weapon.
Waste pile
- All used cards (monsters, weapons, health potions and replaced weapons) are moved to the waste pile.
Scoring
- If you have made your way through the entire dungeon, your score is your health.
